Meet Tricia

Tricia’s passion for movement began with Pilates mat work more than two decades ago and has continued to grow ever since. Over the years, she has developed a deep appreciation for the many ways movement can support our physical, mental, emotional, and energetic well-being. With years of experience as a group fitness instructor, she loves creating an encouraging space where people can reconnect with their bodies, discover their strength, and build a positive, empowering relationship with movement.

As a Balanced Body certified Pilates instructor, Tricia combines the foundations of Joseph Pilates’ original method with contemporary movement science, anatomy, and biomechanics. Her classes are welcoming to all levels and invite students to move with intention, curiosity, and awareness while exploring the Pilates principles of breath, concentration, centering, control, precision, and flow.

Outside the studio, Tricia is an intuitive guide and energy practitioner who believes movement is a pathway of connection between the body and spirit, allowing us to quiet our busy minds, sink into our inner knowing, and discover the wisdom our bodies hold.

When she’s not teaching, you can find Tricia exploring nature trails and waterfalls, spending time with her family, and searching for the best sunset.ructor. Having lived in several cities throughout the U.S., Amanda has always enjoyed trying new fitness classes. She has gained a lot of insight and perspective on the physical, emotional, and mental benefits of incorporating fitness into one's life. Over the last several years she has focused her attention on movement as a part of overall health and wellness.

How did you discover your passion for movement?

I received some Pilates DVDs and started practicing the classical repertoire when I was in middle school.

How has your personal practice supported your self-discovery and healing?

As someone with ADHD, who gets easily overstimulated and engulfed in others' energy, my movement practice has allowed me a way to release stagnant energy, move into my body instead of my mind, and feel grounded in my day to day. Maintaining a movement practice has also significantly reduced my chronic pain, which allows me to move through life with so much more ease.

What is the most inspiring thing about teaching?

I love watching people discover they are so much more stronger and capable than they ever thought they were. I love to empower others and be their cheerleader for all of their wins, big and small.

What can people expect from your teaching style and classes?

I love to keep it fun, while prioritizing proper alignment and form to keep the body safe through class. I think it's important to push ourselves, yet remember it's a practice, not perfection.

What do you love about Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness?

The space is really calm and inviting with excellent instructors.

What do you enjoy outside of the studio?

I am married to the man began dating when I was 17. We have 2 kids, 2 cats, a dog, and a bearded dragon named Cheeto. We love going on adventures, to the ocean, and family game night every Sunday.

Another huge passion of mine is helping support people on their healing and spiritual journey. I love helping people rediscover who they truly are through energetic work, shadow work, and psychic channeling.

To recharge my battery, I love (need) spending time in nature, laughing with my close friends, going to concerts, and doing various art projects.

Flashback to your childhood. What do you want to be when you grow up?

A tattoo artist.
